Bangalore is often referred to as the Silicon
Valley of India. It is the third most populous city in the country, located in
south India. It is often called Garden City because the trees planted on both
sides of the road making its climate comfortable. At one time Bangalore was
famous for its green pastures and fertile farmland.
India. As soon as the name came up, the image of
well-known cities like Kolkata, Delhi, or Mumbai came to our mind. In
comparison, Bangalore, the capital of the southern Indian state of Karnataka,
is rarely discussed or practiced, it is the third-most populous city in India
but has gained a respectable reputation in the outside world. Once known as
'Pensioner's Paradise' or 'Garden City', the city is now being referred to as
India's Silicon Valley!
Many may be surprised to hear, but your amazement
is bound to turn into visual reality after you physically set foot in
Bangalore. Before 8 a.m. on weekdays, you will see that there is a long traffic
jam on every important road. The city has become famous for the walk of 1 crore
20 lakh inhabitants. Or if you look around, you will see all the luxurious
restaurants and bars, which is amazing for a conservative country like India.
Bangalore – Tourist Attraction and Silicon Valley, India
At present, it is not only the center of
information technology but also the heart of famous educational institutions
and various research institutes. About half of India's 50 billion IT industry
is located in Bangalore. Many of the top national and international
corporations are headquartered here. Bangalore started this journey in the year
of 1980. Some engineering colleges were established in Bangalore in that
decade. Texas Instruments opens office in Bangalore as the first foreign
company. About 250 software companies are currently headquartered in Bangalore,
including India's top tech giants like Infosys and Wipro.
Four of the top five IT services companies in
the world are based in India. The city is a major attraction for thousands of
IT specialist software engineers in India. Various foreign companies are more
interested in working in Bangalore than in other countries. They can be hired
by highly qualified IT workers at a quarter of the cost compared to the United
States or Europe. Bangalore, not just focused on the IT industry. There are
also other major industries such as aeronautics, electronics, biotechnology, and
machine manufacturing. After all, Bangalore is the hub of outsourcing in India
and one of the most popular outsourcing destinations in the world. New IT
companies are growing rapidly in the city.
Sometimes these start-up companies start the
journey with little capital and later they are funded by various western
companies. Recently many Indian IT specialists are returning to their home
country after gaining work experience abroad and setting up new companies in
Bangalore.
But there are also problems in the IT
industry in Bangalore and India. The demand for highly skilled computer
technologists is on the rise and so are the costs. Some American companies are
returning to the country due to excessive cost increases.
Bangalore is the City of Engineers & Entrepreneurs
You
will see two special classes of people in this tourist attraction of Bangalore
in front of you: engineers and entrepreneurs. And the most widely used term in
their dictionary is 'startup'. Every week, new technology-related startups
sprout from the corridors and hostel rooms of the city's universities, making
the city one of the fastest-growing startup ecosystems in Asia.
In just 12 months of 2018, 153
successful startups were established in the city, each with the right level of
talent and capital. That's why the 2019 Global Startup Ecosystem Report ranks
the city at 16th place, with Silicon Valley in the first place, New York in
second place, and London and Beijing in third place. Besides, JLL 2017 City
Momentum Index also gave Bangalore the title of the most diverse city in the
world based on its technology and innovative skills.
Economical importance of the City
Famous
tourist attractions of USA for IT lovers, the original Silicon Valley, located
in San Francisco, California, USA, is the headquarters of the world's best IT
companies like Apple, Facebook, Google, which is why it is considered as the
base of technology companies. The same can be said in the context of India in
the case of Bangalore. Much of India's recent advances in information
technology have been centered on Bangalore. Here are the Indian branches of
Amazon, IBM, Microsoft, Tesco, Nokia, Siemens, Apple, Intel, Cisco, Adobe,
Google, etc.
The
IT industry in India employs about one crore people, through which goods and services
worth 85 billion are exported abroad every year. Bangalore provides 40 percent
of this huge income. In 2019, India became a 2.7 trillion economy, of which 1
trillion has been added in the last five years alone. The country of tourist
attractions, India's goal now is to become a 5 trillion economy by 2024-25. If
this challenging goal is to be realized, then Bangalore has to make a big
contribution. Because the real Silicon Valley is in the San Francisco Bay area,
it's just a 3 trillion economy, ahead of the whole of India.
How Bangalore come to this position?
Exactly when and how the information technology
revolution started in Bangalore. To get an answer to that question, we have to
go back to the '80s.
In 1983, some Indian technology-based corporations
such as Wipro and Infosys set up their primary offices in Bangalore and started
hiring Indian programmers. Their efforts to make a big difference in India's
information technology industry gained momentum in 1984 when new computer and
software policies were enacted. This widens the way for import and export of
hardware and software.
On this occasion, American companies began to form
alliances with Indian software companies and to help India with all the new
technologies and systems they invented. Naturally, this opened the door to new
possibilities for Indians. But what is the benefit of the Americans in this
case? To their advantage, they were able to harness Indian talent at low cost,
as well as build new centers for software innovation on Indian soil. And the
biggest benefit, of course, is that Indians are familiar with the new
technology.
They were also sowing the seeds of creating a
demand for updated versions of these in their minds in the future by making
them do it. In this way, in the field of information technology, there was an alliance between the West and the East, so that the East was benefiting, but
the West was benefiting several times more than that.

In 1985, Texas Instrument Inc. became the first
multinational corporation to set up a development center in Bangalore,
following in the footsteps of many other such development centers. However, it
is undeniable that in the '80s, for most Indians involved in the IT industry,
quick money was more important, which is why they tried to create software at a
lower cost. As a result, most of the software produced in India was
substandard. It was a matter of great notoriety for the Indian information
technology industry, which India had to wait a long time to overcome.
From the time when the infrastructural backwardness
was exposed in the information technology revolution in India, the Indian
information technology industry has had to head west to the beginning of this
century. There was never any doubt about the excellence of individual talents in
India, but since there was no big platform to utilize those talents properly in
their own country, they would go to the West through the brain drain. That is
why it is not at all surprising to see Indians in the top positions of
companies like Google, Nokia, Adobe, Microsoft today.
Undoubtedly, for a time, getting a job at Microsoft
or Google seemed as honorable to the top Indian talent as working for any
emerging IT company in the country. However, this situation also began to
change at some point.
Although there was no shortage of IT-savvy or
science-educated talents from India in the past, due to lack of proper
planning, they could not enter their careers and spread their talents to the
maximum, or leave the country. But over the past decade, the field of
information technology and science education in India has become more
sophisticated, and efforts have been made to provide them with ample
opportunities to work in their own country. That's why now Indian graduates
have not only a big goal to get a job on Google or Facebook, but they have also
started dreaming of doing something like Google or Facebook in their own
country.
Some of these dreamy people are currently turning
the wheel of successful startups in India. For example, we can talk about Ola
Cabs. In India, they have overtaken their global rival Uber. In India, Amazon's
rival Flipkart has surpassed the market value of 5.5 billion, directly creating
employment for more than 30,000 people. All this has been possible in just ten
years, and needless to say, both companies originated in Bangalore.
It may not be appropriate to compare Bangalore with
the real Silicon Valley right now, as Silicon Valley companies are roaming the
globe. But it is only in terms of dominance in the Indian market that Bangalore-based
companies continue to fight side by side, and sometimes even gain absolute
victories. And this is not a small thing since India is not a small country,
the population is about one and a half billion.
Another positive aspect of Bangalore is that instead
of bringing in workers from outside, they are focusing more on creating skilled
workers in their city. The number of IT colleges in the city has exceeded 50
already, and of the 12 million people who consider the city their home, 1
million are developers. The number of developers will increase over time but
will not decrease.

The city of tourist attraction is ahead in many
ways. Education and research are given utmost importance in this city, as
evidenced by the presence of research institutes and schools of almost all
subjects here. The city also has aerospace and aircraft manufacturing plants,
and a large assortment of biotechnology, machine making, and electronics
industries. With all this, new ideas are being developed in the city, small
entrepreneurs are emerging, and the impact of startups is slowly skyrocketing.
Thus, Asia's fastest-growing startup ecosystem is
growing in depth and breadth. And if one day this so-called Silicon Valley of
India reaches the level of the real Silicon Valley, it will come as no
surprise.
Bangalore, India has topped the list of the most
'fastest' cities in the world. According to a recent survey, tourist attraction
Bangalore occupies this place. Jones Lang Lasell, a multinational real estate
advisory firm, has released a list of the world's top 30 'dynamic' cities for
the World Economic Forum in Davos.
According to the survey, Bangalore, known as the
'IT capital' of India, ranks No. 1 in terms of technological changes, slowing
down population growth and strengthen global connectivity.
The list of dynamic cities has been compiled by
reviewing 42 areas and surveying 134 countries. Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam ranks second on the
list of fastest cities. Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is at number 8 on the
list.
At number 3 on the list is Silicon Valley in The United States. Besides, Austin and Boston are the 7th and 9th cities in the
country respectively. The fourth dynamic city in the world is Shanghai, China.
Hyderabad in India is fifth on the list. London in the UK is at number 6 on the
list. At number 10 on the list is Nairobi, Kenya.
Jeremy Callie, director of JLL, says about half the
world's population now lives in cities. The number of people moving to cities
has increased over the decades. The importance of living here is increasing
mainly due to the success of the cities.
Gross domestic product (GDP) growth, population,
presence of corporate headquarters, commercial housing establishments, and
house rents have been taken into consideration in making this list. Besides,
the quality of education, innovation, and environment have also been
considered.
JLL has been compiling a list of these dynamic
cities every year since 2015. The city of Bangalore was ranked 12th in 2015
list.
Bangalore, the City of Garden like Your Dream.
Not
a tree, like a queen. Surrounded by the sprawling branches of the Centennial
trees. A combination of colorful flowers in the shade of beetroot. The green
beauty of the modern city is on par with the tree-line dress of the old city.
In
the south, trees are plentiful everywhere. The presence of ancient trees in
Hyderabad, Chennai, Trivandrum, and Vidarbha will also catch your eye.
‘Bangalore did not get excellence just for the trees. He got it to protect the
trees in a well-planned way and to decorate the garden with a variety of herbs
and flowers. '
In
the courtyard of the house, in the corner of the shop, on the islands of the
city, not a single chill can be found. Green everywhere. Colorful flower and
leaf fair. A whole bamboo bush standing on the island at the corner of the
crowded five streets. This did not happen in one or two places. Has been in
every place, in every corner, everywhere in the city. And the gardening work
has been done with planning and balance.

The city of Bangalore is not very flat. The city has a light hilly appearance due
to the landforms of the southern geological infrastructure. The hills are
small. Surprise! The question of cutting or trimming them may not be raised by
anyone. Gardens, buildings, and city layouts have been arranged to preserve the
originality of the city's landscape. Trees have been planted in the light of
land features. Somewhere the Zhou tree predominates. Somewhere long rows of
trees. A tree with an extended stem somewhere. The trees have been planted in
such places. They are also nice to see.
Entrepreneurs
have thought deeply to make the land and place of Bangalore tree-friendly and
natural. The aesthetic appearance of a city-friendly tree is evidenced by
well-planned, compassionate, and caring. Rows of trees extending the horizon of
the bot, in the open field or garden. Palm, date, coconut type upward trees in
relatively few places. And if a little space is available, a garden with
different types of flowers. With suitable shrubs. Orchids, mini plants, foliage
are scattered all over the city. It may seem that the whole city is green. The
whole environment has become very pleasant with the mix of multi-colored vines,
leaves, and flowers with the shimmering bright green cover.

Hundreds
of arrangements of modern life are going on amid calm, serene and silent
immersed nature. Skyscrapers and a procession of thousands of cars. Tourist
attraction Bangalore is the first in terms of speed not only in India but in
the whole world. Bangalore is called the city of speed and gardens. Such a
balanced coexistence of nature and modernity in mechanical urban life is rare.
It is one of the famous and unique tourist attractions in India. Bangalore has
made human life eco-friendly, nature-friendly, healthy, and shiny by completing
the difficult and complex task of balancing urbanization and naturalization
with the highest qualifications and expertise. Being tourist attractions this
city attracts many tourists from all over the world every year.
Beautification journey of Bangalore City
In the post-Mughal period, Europeans and Englishmen did play a lesser role in
nurturing the garden tradition of Bangalore. On the contrary, the gentleman cum
only educated person has made gardening more fertile. Needless to say,
following the Vasco-da-Gama route, the Europeans first encountered the southern
areas when they came to India like a current in the southern seas. That is why
there are more Christians in the south. The Muslim settlement is also strong
because Arab Muslim merchants used to stop on the Malabar coast to reach China.
History says that they used to take such breaks in Chittagong or Arakan. That
is why there are ancient Muslim settlements in these areas. Later Christian
settlements grew.
St.
Joseph's School and Church in Bangalore was established in 1580. That ancient
tradition is embedded in the design and structure of the buildings inside the
school compound and in the afforestation. Hundreds of ancient trees in the huge
inner courtyard. The environment is as perfect as a place to read.
Trees are The Symbol of Honor and Tradition Here
In the city, it seems, trees are a symbol of honor
and tradition, not money. Many organizations have issued notices to the Gate,
saying, "We have 100 varieties of 1000 trees." The type and number of
trees are changing depending on the age and antiquity of the organization. But
no one is sitting as a treeless Nento! There are parallels in the shadowy
nature.
Each institution is ancient, noble, and extensive.
In fact, you could find a mosque and a church with a huge courtyard that will
enlarge your mind. There are many temples with huge statues of Hanuman.
Exquisite carvings on the walls of the temple. Red buildings of the British
period are still here. Open space around the remarkable tiled roof
installations. And of course, there's the perfect arrangement of trees and
gardens.
Raj Bhavan, another tourist attractions in
Bangalore, Neat arrangement. But the event is very close to nature. It looks
like a house in the middle of the forest by mistake. This means that the
installation was not built by killing the forest and nature. Modernization does
not ignore the needs of the forest. Rather everything is being done, on the
basis of coexistence with nature.
Film City, Bengaluru |
It is true that the modern part of the city is
being expanded with multi-story buildings with newly constructed glazed, steel
frames and exterior glass, and there is less arboriculture. Ancient trees are
not supposed to be found in new places. But by arranging the garden he has
overcome the deficiency. The surroundings of each complex are filled with
indoor and outdoor gardens in such a way that even modern urbanization would
not feel like aggression. It will feel like a companion of nature.
